CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIETY
TABUNG PENDIDIKAN SARJANA PDT
Tabung Pendidikan Sarjana PDT has benefitted 645 students. Since 2016, PDT has provided monetary assistance for qualified candidates undergoing Masters programmes at local institutions of higher learning. The main objective was to help students in financial difficulties through a one-off financial aid disbursement. Until 2019, over RM 2.7 milion had been allocated for this program.
SHORT COURSE FOR JOHOR CIVIL SERVANT (JCS)
Since 2017, PDT began an initiative to provide exposure and upskilling in leadership to the JCS by sending them on courses at the Harvard Kennedy School, John F. Kennedy School of Government, as well as the Asian Institute of Management in Manila (Philippines). 16 JCS officers (mainly from the middle management groups) have benefitted from these programmes aimed at improving organisational leadership skills. RM650,000 has been allocated since 2020 for these courses, which also includes funding for the Pena Jauhar, JCS Transformation Plan and JCS Academy.
SHORT COURSES FOR KAFA TEACHERS
PDT began an initiative in 2017 to provide an opportunity for KAFA teachers employed by the Johor State Government to improve their skills via short term courses. The main objective is to improve their quality of teaching in the classroom. Over 1,200 KAFA teachers have benefitted from these courses through an allocation of RM350,000.
TABUNG PENDIDIKAN KAKITANGAN KERAJAAN KUMPULAN PELAKSANA
This fund was introduced to help Johor civil servants in the support group who wish to further their studies at Diploma or Degree levels. This financial aid initiative started in 2018 to encourage Johor civil servants to further improve their level of education. 60 employees have benefitted from this program through an allocation of RM350,000.
INSENTIF HARAPAN SISWA
This program was introduced in 2018 to help students from B40 families. Through this scheme, a one-off financial aid is given to help ease the financial burdens of students who are about to embark on their tertiary education in public or private universities at Diploma or Degree level. Until 2019, RM2 million had been disbursed for the implementation of this incentive.
EMERGENCY AID
PDT is also actively involved in delivering aid such as daily food items and necessities to victims of natural disasters. Among the recipients include those impacted by Covid-19 and flash floods.
